My daughter has left the wildlife habitat with several scratches on the front and back of her body from the second largest male kangaroo we identified in the habitat. This hungry, approx 120cm male kangaroo was fighting for food amongst other males before jumping on my 130cm tall daughter who was carrying a bag of food. We were not simply followed by some super friendly kangaroos keen for interaction, we struggled to get in the gate of the savannah as several kangaroos and Wallabies came jumping over before we even entered, presumably because they heard the paper bag and smelt the pellets from a distance. We then entered through an alternative gate and quite quickly were met by at least 15-20 animals, including an emu, all crowding the four of us (including my two yr old who was thankfully in my arms rather than her pram). We tried to get away from them and over to a man with his son, but they didn't take long to realise that we were the only ones with food and we were literally mobbed again. This was when my daughter had the large male come up behind her trying to jump, with forearms over her shoulders, scratching her chest, upper back and using one of his hind feet to kick her lower back. She was pushed forward and screamed when this happened. I tried to quickly get her through the crocodile stand gates away from the kangaroos. I was looking at her scratches and the marks on her back when the two male keepers came towards us, presumably to check on her because they heard her screaming, but it seemed they were simply on their way to attend to something in the crocodile exhibit. I had to stop the younger of the two men to ask him to look at my daughter's scratches so that he was aware that it was not an overreaction and he asked which kangaroo it was and told me to report it to the front office as they track these behaviours to determine the suitability of different animals to be in the environment where they can be hand fed. When my daughter had calmed down, we tried to leave the savannah but again had the same problem of being mobbed by kangaroos so I had to rush my children ahead with my mother so that I could stay to distract the animals with the food so they could get out unscathed. The two male keepers walked ahead and made no attempt to help us. When I reported this incident to the lady at the front desk, she was equally dismissive hoping to end the conversation by offering antiseptic cream rather than addressing my concerns regarding animal behaviour and the safety of any children in that environment given the nature of the kangaroos. Likely could have been avoided by monitoring feeding habits and adjusting according to the frequency of visitors buying 'roo-food' but management dismiss as an unfortunate experience!

Loved the whole experience,crocs being fed,very friendly koala's and roos.Lots of birdlife.Friendly staff.Too many species to remember.I arrived there fairly late,still plenty to do and see,but recommend coming early to see some of the feeding experiences. A must for families,very safe and kids were loving hand feeding wallabies and birds.Thanks guys for a lovely day.

Did the night tour. Excellent. Brilliant guide (Hunter) who was personable and knowledgeable. Not only did we get to see an extensive range of wildlife (birds, reptiles, mammals), but were able to interact - feed and hold. The enclosures are excellent and occupy quite a large area. Great value and memorable.

The website is a little confusing when booking. I booked my family into the night tour, which looked as if it included entry to the park during the day, it didn't. This was fine as entry is not that expensive and can be bought at the gate on the day; however, I would recommend ringing to purchase tickets instead of using the online system. My mother and I arrived at the park at 2:30 not realising that it closed at 4:00 and reopened for the night tour at 6:00 this was not clear on the website. The park has a lot of birds that are very friendly, so I would recommend that you like birds before coming here. It is a reasonably small park, and we were able to do it in 1.5 hours quite comfortably. The night tour was definitely the highlight, and I would recommend it. Our guide was Sophie, and she was terrific and very knowledgeable with a biology background. On the tour, we fed wallabies and kangaroos, cassowaries and birds. It is fantastic to see how the animal's behaviour changes at night.

I love this place, you can spend hours wandering around the different areas, the bird sanctuary, the savannah, the night dwellers , crocodiles,fish++++++, there are also birds that come and go .You can have " breakfast with the birds" as staff will bring them round at the cafe which in the middle of the "Habitat".One entryticket can get you three days access, so you can come and go, it is ideal for families. I have lost count of the amount of times I have visited over the past 10 years.

i went on the 13th of july 2020 and the staff were great i was asking qestion s to the lady who was redoing the tress kangaroo encloser and she was happy to answer anything i would ask. i then went in to the cafe area and had four birds on me at once it was great they were very friendly. and i spent maybe ahour just patting and feeding the kangaroos. great stafff and looks to be very happy animals. kept very clean. was a great day at the habitat.

Our time there was good. It is a smaller place, but you do get to hold a koala, and they have a big crocodile that will jump. We went to Hartley's after leaving the Wildlife Habitat and realized that you can hold koala's there, and Hartley's has amazing crocodile shows and exhibits. So, overall, the Wildlife Refuge was small but good, and they do let you feed kangaroos and wallabies. But, if I only had time to go to one, I would choose Hartly's.

You can walk around at your own pace and hand feed the kangaroos. The animals are within reach the whole time - except for the crocs. We thought it was a little pricey for what you get.

We visited the Habitat for about 2 1/2 hours. It was great to see Kangaroos, wallabies, cassowaries, pelicans, koalas. and other birds and animals. We took a tour of the savanah environment which was super informative. We had our picture taken with "Tia" the koala. Well planned out sanctuary.
